    Kai Noriyuki, フィレンツェ近郊スカンディッチのサン・ジュスト・ア・シニャーノ聖堂身廊右壁に現存する板絵≪磔刑のキリストとマグダラのマリア≫(図1)は、サンティ・ディ・ティート(1536-1603年)作聖トマス・アクイナス礼拝堂祭壇画(図2)に登場する磔刑像を原型とし、その後の画家のさまざまな磔刑図(図3,4)とも類似している。但し両肩や両腕に比して小さなキリストの頭部などには、助手の不十分な技量が見てとれる。ここでは本作を画家の工房作とみなし、図版を初公表する。作品の来歴は不明だが、マグダラのマリアがそうであったように、回心した「罪の女」たちの収容施設等の出自を推測することができる。, Ibaraki University

    Kai Noriyuki, フィレンツェのサンティッシマ・アヌンツィアータ聖堂食堂にサンティ・ディ・ティートが1573年に描いた壁画≪パリサイ人シモン家の晩餐≫(図1)背景の建築壁面の左右には、壁龕に入った彫刻が単色画で表されているが、従来その主題の同定が試みられることはなかった。実際、彫像の持物の同定は現在の壁画の保存状態(図2,3)からは困難である。しかし1968年の修復以前のアリナーリ写真の細部を拡大することによって、向かって左に二枚の律法の板を持つモーセが(図4)、向かって右に12個のパンを持つアロンが表されていることが判明した(図5)。特に、モーセの容貌は、翌1574年にこの画家が制作した≪エマウスの晩餐≫(フィレンツェ、サンタ・クローチェ聖堂)にやはり壁龕に入った彫像として描かれた同じ預言者のもの(図6)と酷似している。律法が記された石板と(出エジプト記24,12;32,15-16,19;34,1-4,28-29)、アロンとその子孫が代々安息日ごとに主の祭壇に捧げるように命じられた12個のパンは(レヴィ記24,5-9)、ともに神とイスラエルの民との契約の証しである。しかし画面前景でパリサイ人シモンによって示されるこれら律法の権威は、彼の向かいに座すイエスの教えによって乗り越えられる(図7)。イエスは彼の足を涙で濡らし、髪もて拭う罪の女(図8)を指差して、彼女を称讃する。「この女のすべての罪は赦されています。なぜなら、彼女はより多く愛したからです」(ルカ7,47)。かくして旧き律法の掟は、新約の愛の教えによって更新されるのである。, Ibaraki University
