楊子江,宮崎, Since a voltage-controlled magnetic levitation system is open-loop unstable and strongly nonlinear associated with the electromechanical dynamics, it is quite challenging to apply an adaptive controller for position tracking problem mainly due to its poor transient performance. This paper proposes a combined robust and adaptive approach to a popular magnetic levitation system. The overall controller is designed through a backstepping manner by combining both the adaptive control and robust control techniques. The input-to-state-stability is ensured by the robust nonlinear damping terms whereas the ultimate control error bounds are made sufficiently small by the adaptive laws. The combined approach proposed here helps to overcome some well-known practical problems such as high-gain feedback of the robust controller, and poor transient performance of the adaptive controller. Experimental results are included to show the excellent position tracking performance of the designed control system., The Society of Instrument and Control Engineers

楊子江,児玉, This paper considers the problem of impulse response identification for a linear sampled-data system where the input signal is held constantly within a multiple of the sampling period of the output signal. It is well known that in this case, the identification problem is usually ill-conditioned, if the system under study is discretized with a much shorter sampling period of the output signal. To improve the identification accuracy, this paper proposes a new identification approach by employing the Haar scaling and wavelet functions. At first, we point out that the discrete-time impulse response of a linear system with zero-order hold (ZOH) input is actually the piecewise-constant approximation of its continuous-time impulse response. Then based on the close relation between piecewise-constant approximation with Haar scaling and wavelet functions, a hierarchical identification procedure is proposed which identifies the system impulse response from a coarse resolution level (low frequency subspace) to a fine resolution level (high frequency subspace) successively. At each resolution level, the BIC is utilized to determine the length of the decomposed impulse response in the corresponding subspace, so that some redundant parameters in the high frequency-domain which are sensitive to the noise effects are discarded. Since the identified impulse response model is not smooth when it is represented by some Haar scaling functions of different widths, we can replace each Haar scaling function in the preidentified impulse response model by a gaussian basis function with corresponding position and width. Then an improved identification method is also proposed to achieve smooth continuous-time impulse response model from sampled data, based on the designed gaussian basis functions. It is shown through simulation study that the proposed method yields accurate estimate of the impulse response even in the ill-conditioned cases., The Society of Instrument and Control Engineers

The controller is designed in a backstepping manner, based on the nonlinear system model in the presence of parameter uncertainties. The effects of the parameter uncertainties are reduced by a nonlinear damping term and the offset position error is removed by a PI controller. 楊子江; 辻,庄野, In this paper, the authors propose a new identification method for the discrete-time impulse response model of a linear system from sampled input-output data using multiresolution analysis theory, especially in the case of impulse response with locally rapidly changing components. The continuous-time impulse response of the system under study which is viewed as a L2(R) function of time, is approximated by scaling and wavelet functions which are shifted and dilated based on the multiresolution analysis theory. Hence the system under study can be viewed as weighted summation of a group of subsystems in which the shifted and dilated scaling functions and wavelet functions are interpretated as their impulse responses respectively. Then the genetic algorithm and AIC are introduced to select significant subsystems such that only moderate parameters are required to be estimated in contrast to the conventional method. It is shown that the proposed method yields accurate estimate of the impulse response with locally rapidly changing components, even in the ill-posed cases of band-limited input, fast sampling rate and significant measurement noise., The Society of Instrument and Control Engineers
