道辻洋平,一柳洋輔,松本陽,佐藤安弘,大野寛之,緒方正剛,谷本益久,福島知樹,松田卓也,松見隆紀, 筆頭著者,The coefficient of friction (COF) between the outer rail and the leading-outside wheel flange of a railway bogie running on sharp curved track is an important parameter for the progress of wheel/rail wear and running safety. Therefore, it is desired to grasp the actual state of COF of wheels especially at the leading-outside wheel flange. In the author's previous studies, a roller-rig experiment was conducted with changing lubrication condition of each wheel of the bogie to figure out relationship between lubrication conditions and wheel/rail contact forces such as tangential, lateral and vertical directions. In this paper, a method to estimate the value of COF of leading-outside wheel with look-up tables built by repetitive numerical simulations is explained. In the construction of the look-up tables, friction coefficients for each wheel in the numerical simulation model are changed while collecting calculated wheel/rail contact forces. A railway bogie running on roller-rig test is considered for both numerical simulations and experiment with different lubrication condition, therefore look-up tables are built with a half-vehicle model running on the roller-rig. By inputting the wheel/rail contact forces measured in roller-rig test into the look-up tables built by simulations, and the COF of leading-outside wheel flange is estimated. The result shows that the lubrication condition of leading-outside wheel flange can be estimated by the proposed method especially when the value of COF is large and is useful for the detection of high COF condition.

The value of the derailment coefficient changes constantly due to numerous factors associated with the vehicle and track conditions while the vehicle runs on a service line. Therefore, it is desirable to monitor the state of the wheel/rail contact in order to ensure the running safety. Recently, a new monitoring bogie, which can measure the derailment coefficient during commercial operations, has been developed and introduced into some service lines. Large-scale data have been collected by this monitoring bogie. In this paper, the temporal subtraction analysis is carried out for preparing appropriate plan for reducing the derailment coefficient based on these data. In the analysis, the vehicle running position is important for accurate calculation of the difference between two waveforms. However, the vehicle running position contains errors because of the accumulated error of integral calculation of the vehicle velocity. The present paper proposes a method which modifies the running position along track so that the two waveforms are well matched. The proposed method is based on DP matching, and the waveforms of the track irregularity of twist estimated by the monitoring bogie are used in the method. After DP matching, an example of temporal subtraction analysis of the derailment coefficient between two periods is performed. Finally, by using the long-term measurements acquired by the monitoring bogie, the monthly variation of the derailment coefficient for a certain spot on the track is shown as a practical example.

Utilizing independently rotating wheels may be an effective solution. The EEF bogie proposed by Dr.Frederich in late 1980th shows good curving performance making use of the gravity restoring force generated by the tread gradient of independently rotating wheels. However, the bogie gives rise to a kind of hunting motion as the vehicle running velocity increases. In this paper, an effective modification of the EEF bogie which solves the hunting motion is mentioned. The solution is to incline both wheel-axles while adjusting the tread shape of each wheel. In this paper, the EEF bogie with inclined wheel-axles is firstly proposed and analytically evaluated by the MBD simulation. Since the newly proposed bogie has complicated structures, a precise modeling of the bogie is mentioned in detail. From the result of eigenvalue analysis, proposed bogie can dramatically improve the hunting stability as compared to the conventional EEF bogie. In addition, the proposed bogie has excellent curving performance in tight curve section equivalent to the conventional EEF bogie. As those results, it is possible to achieve both high speed hunting stability and curving performance utilizing the proposed bogie unit in the vehicle.

The derailment coefficient is affected by many factors such as the track irregularities, the vehicle parameters and the friction characteristics between wheel and rail. Therefore, monitoring of the derailment coefficient is desired to evaluate the running safety of the vehicle. Recently, a new monitoring bogie which can collect time series data of the derailment coefficient during commercial operation has been developed, and a large scale data is collected. However, there was no way to use such a data efficiently because an efficient method and an analysis tool have not been developed. In this research, a new analysis tool which can easily handle a large scale data and assist analysis of the derailment coefficient has been designed using MATLAB. In addition to measuring the derailment coefficient, the wheel load reduction and the track irregularity of twist are also measured. The tool can extract points where the derailment coefficient increases from a large scale data, and quickly show detailed information. On the basis of the information displayed on the user-interface, the data analyst can identify factors that increase the derailment coefficient. Not only analysis focused on a particular curve, but also the tool has the function for comparison of some curves. Analysis of the time change of the derailment coefficient is also possible. This paper shows the basic design of the analysis tool and gives some examples of analysis using this tool.

We consider one of the most typical situations where a pedestrian walks along to a sidewalk, and then some obstacle exists in front of the pedestrian. To represent the walking route of the pedestrian during the avoidance action, a stochastic model is suitable than deterministic one. The stochastic model is derived from the walking experiment where a pedestrian avoids some obstacle in natural walking. Based on the loci obtained from the experiment, the pedestrians walking speed and walking direction at any local area was approximated by Gaussian and Beta distribution function, respectively. As a result the walking route of a pedestrian can be represented in a stochastic manner. The estimated output of the model is examined by comparing with two real walking loci that were obtained from near-miss incident database. One examination scene is avoidance of a parked vehicle, and the other is of parked bicycle on the roadside. By the numerical simulation, we obtained the results that the both real walking routes are included within the 3-sigma ranges of the estimated output of 500 trials.

The safety is often discussed according to the value of derailment coefficients for the leading outside wheel of a railway bogie running on sharp curves. Therefore, the detailed force induced mechanism which influences the value of derailment coefficients should be clarified. One of the most dominant factors affecting the value of derailment coefficients is magnitudes of the coefficient of friction (COF) between wheel and rail. Since the gauge corner of the outer rail and the top of the inner rail are lubricated at some sharp curves, COF of wheels of a bogie are different from each other and show complicated variation. In this study, the effect of lubrication for the running safety of the railway bogie is investigated while considering the detailed force induced mechanism of the derailment coefficient increase utilizing both multibody dynamics simulations and experiments. Experiments and simulations are conducted with a roller-rig test equipment under various conditions of wheel/rail lubrication. In this research, a method to identify whether the bogie is in suitably lubricated condition in terms of running safety is discussed. The proposed method making use of the longitudinal force measurement with mono-link type axle supporting device is mentioned.

丸茂 喜高,中野 尭,中西 智浩,道辻 洋平, ラスト(シニア)オーサー,This study examines the driver assistance system to judge whether a passage (GO) or a stop (NOGO) at a signalized intersection ahead. The assistance system indicates the evaluation indices on the road ahead virtually. The proposed assistance system informs a driver visually of the distance which the vehicle can traverse by maintaining the current velocity until the red signal onset using the signal information. If the remaining distance to the intersection is longer than the indicated distance, the system also indicates a stopping distance by assuming the ordinary deceleration. The driving simulator experiments are carried out to evaluate the proposed assistance system. The assistance system encourages the earlier deceleration before turning to the amber signal and prevents the emergency braking behavior or the risky passage through the intersection. In addition, the assistance system shortens drivers' reaction time to the emergency deceleration of the preceding vehicle compared with the onboard monitor indication in the own vehicle. Indicating evaluation indices on the road ahead virtually helps the driver to decelerate earlier and avoid the higher deceleration. These effects make it possible to suppress the collision risk to the preceding vehicle and contribute the safety driving.

Due to the constraint of field test, simulation and lab experiment procedures are performable to verify the interaction. Such simulation needs accurate modeling of the response of the pantograph for the consistency in prediction and control. A simple system identification of the pantograph is executed based on the lab experimental data using commercial software and least squares method. The validation of the procedure is performed through comparison between extended experimental data and numerical simulations of the pantograph system. One of the essential performances is current collection stability. Operating at high speed conditions, the current collection system which consists of contact wire and pantograph suffers from contact force variation. In order to reduce such variation, pantograph design should be comprised by active control thus realizing stability. Numerical analysis can be applied to model the current collection and in particular simulate the contact force variation itself. In this study, Finite Element Method and Absolute Nodal Coordinate Formulation are used to model the wire. A free vibration experiment that focuses on the tension of wire is performed to validate the numerical models. The validated result from the experiment demonstrates the accuracy of the numerical analysis in modeling the wire. The techniques are then applied to model the contact wire for the contact force investigation. In particular, the intercity railway transport that can be operated at speed of more than 350 km/h is the goal for the railway industry. Due to vibration and drag forces at high speed, contact force variation occurs between pantograph and catenary. This variation also causes instability in the pantograph and catenary interaction. In this study, multibody dynamics analysis is used to model the catenary. The integration of the catenary model and the pantograph model in the simulation flow produces contact force variations. A sinusoidal feed forward force and a simple feedback control force are applied to control the wave-like contact force fluctuations by means of active dampers. To this end, equations of motion of IRW with inverted tread conicity are derived and used for the stability analysis. It is demonstrated that unstable hunting motion occurs in this type of wheelset and the hunting frequency decreases as the speed increases, which is totally different characteristics from those of the conventional wheelset. The cause of such unique vibration characteristics is investigated from an energy point of view, and the effect of coupling terms associated with the wheel/rail creep forces on the stability of the hunting motion is discussed using the equations of motion in a block diagram form. Furthermore, it is presented that the hunting motion can be stabilized by adequate choices of primary suspensions and the absolute stability condition is theoretically derived for a single suspended IRW with inverted tread conicity., 一般社団法人 日本機械学会

道辻洋平,須田義大, 筆頭著者, In the design of rail vehicle, the compatibility between high speed running stability and good curving performance is quite important. Various railway vehicles with steering mechanism have been considered. Even though some steering bogies are realized on service operation, there still remains some improvement in the passive vehicle design for more tight curved track. The proposed bogie with power-steering yaw damper enables the vehicle to realize ideal curving performance on tight curved track with active control while achieving high speed running stability with passive nature of the suspension. In this paper, the theory of power-steering bogie is explained. In order to verify the performance of the newly developed steering bogie, the scaled model experimental platform with 1/10 model vehicle is originally made and experimental results show the running performance., 一般社団法人日本機械学会

スケールモデル実験装置を用いた独立回転車輪パワーステアリング台車の走行性能, 筆頭著者, This paper proposes the new steering bogie for very tight curved track. The bogie consists of independently rotating wheel controlled by power steering yaw-dampers. Independently rotating wheel with EEF bogie naturally has self steering ability making use of gravity restoring force aroused by nonlinear tread gradient, but has vibration nature in yaw mode of wheel. The proposed power steering yaw-damper enable the wheel vibration to decrease while controlling the steering motion on transition curve. The authors combined the self steering ability of the bogie and power steering yaw-damper to get the compatibility between excellent steering behavior and enough high speed running stability. Experimental results with scaled model vehicle show the effectiveness of active control and bogie mechanism., 一般社団法人日本機械学会

In the design of vehicle parameters, the axle supporting stiffness is quite important for solving the trade〜off. On the contrary, the proposed bogie with steering yaw damper enables the vehicle to realize ideal curving performance on tight curved track while achieving high speed running stability. In order to verify the performance of the newly developed steering truck, the scaled model experimental platform with 1/10 model vehicle is orignnally made. In this paper, the theory of steering bogie to secure high speed running stability is explained. The design procedure is based on the hunting frequency analysis of wheelset considered as a system to be stabilized.
