Design and Practice of File Backup System Taking Advantage of Remotely Distributed CampusesHiroshi Noguchi; Yasuhiro Ohtaki; Masaru Kamada, We present a file backup system designed for a university on the basis of its experiences with the 2011 east Japan earthquake. This system has two levels of security: (1) The web site for public relations and the e-mail systems for communications that will work continuously even in the case of commercial power failure. (2) The personal computer systems that will be down during power failure but will restart working without any loss of data as soon as the power supply is back. The former has been implemented by employing a private cloud computing platform and a public one in combination. To the latter, the same cloud-computing approach was not applicable because it causes latency and extra cost of communications in the normal time to keep the frequently accessed data in a cloud storage. Fortunately, this particular university has three campuses so far away that one may be destroyed by a single disaster but the other two will survive. Taking advantage of the remote campuses, we designed and implemented a file storage system that keeps the original copy on-premise in a campus and its backup copy in one of the other two campuses. Its operations have shown that the communication traffic among the campuses increased only by half in order to keep the data safe against natural disasters., IEEE

［査読有り］ BCPとしての学内データセンターの設置とその活用方針野口 宏; 大瀧 保広; 鎌田 賢, 筆頭著者, 茨城大学では,先の東日本大震災において人的な被害や ICT 機器自体の大きな被害は無かったものの,様々な 要因が重なったため IT 基盤センターのサービス再開には数日を要した.震災翌日に予定されていた入試に関して 受験生への速やかな情報提供が必要とされたが,適切な情報提供をすることが出来なかった.サービス再開が遅 れた要因の分析結果と本学の事情とを考慮したところ,本学の BCP のためにはデータセンターを学内に設置する ことが最善であると判断した.本稿では,学内データセンターを活用した BCP の実現状況について報告する., 学術情報処理研究編集委員会

JDMF-92におけるクラスメソッド及びクラス変数の取扱いについて野口宏・穗鷹良介, 筆頭著者, 現在、盛んに研究されているオブジェクト指向データベースにおけるデータモデル機能はオブジェクト指向言語を基にしているものが殆んどでり、クラスメソッド，クラス変数という概念が存在している。しかし、従来のデータモデル機能ではその様な考えは特に必要としていなく、これらの概念が必要不可欠かどうかが問題となる。一方モデリング概念の最少化という目的を徹底したところクラスメソッド，クラス変数の概念は必ずしも必要ではないという結論に至った。このためにオブジェクトに対してメタオブジェクト概念を導入し、それを再びインスタンスと見る事により、インスタンスメソッド，インスタンス変数だけの概念でデータモデル機能を構成する事が可能となる。この考え方を徹底すると、オブジェクトに対するオブジェクトクラスを考える操作が無制限に必要となり、データモデル機能自身基本的な見直しを行う必要に迫られた。本報告では、その機能の背後にあるメタデータの基本的な構造を一部集合論の助けを借りて明らかにする。Almost all data modelling facilities for object oriented data models are based on object oriented languages where concepts of class methods and class variables are used. But traditional data modelling facilities did not need these concepts. And there are problems if these concepts are really necessary, On the other hand, by minimizing the number of necessary modelling concepts, we came to the conclusion that the class method and the class variable are unnecessary concepts. In order to eliminate the class method and the class variable, we have to regard meta data as instances of classes one meta level higher up, which forces us to use infinitely many meta levels. This paper clarifies the basic structure of an infinitely recursive meta data structure using set theoretic representation.

JDMFのSmalltalkによる実現

JDMFの実現野口宏・尾関美明・穗鷹良介, 筆頭著者, データベースの標準化のため、冗長モデル化概念が無く高い表現能力を持つデータモデル機能としてJDMFが提案され、1991年にJDMF/MODEL?1991が委員会基準として定められた。この基準設定後も様々な要求により改訂が試みられている。この改訂の中にはリスト実体型に加えて集合実体型の導入も含まれデータ構造としてはこれらの任意の組み合わせが許されている。JDMFはこの様に多様なデータの取扱いが可能であるが、データ構造の複雑さは必要最小限に抑えられている。本報告は、JDMF仕様の検証のための忠実な実装結果を報告する。For the standardization of databases, a data modeling facility called JDMF was proposed which has high capability to represent object world with no redundant modeling concepts. JDMF/MODEL-1991 was established as a committee standard in the Spring of 1991. The committee has been continuing bug fixes and improvement eversince. Adding to the list entity type concept, recent improvement introduced set entity type concert and allowed arbitrary combinations of these data modeling concepts. Though JDMF can accommodate various data types, complexity of data structure was restricted to the necessary minimum. This paper reports the result of faithful implementation of the newest version of the JDMF to check the correctness of its specification.
